HTA Wins Crystal Palace Park Restoration Competition

HTA has won Bromley Council’s Crystal Palace Park restoration competition.

HTA's landscape team will be Lead Consultant and Landscape Architects on this exciting regeneration project that will breathe new life into the historic Victorian park, originally built to surround the Joseph-Paxton-designed 1851 Crystal Palace and now houses the Grade II* listed National Sports Centre.

This significant stage is the initial phase of broader regeneration efforts that will see widespread improvements to neglected areas of the park. The plan includes restoring the former Crystal Palace, regenerating the Italian Terraces into a space for community events, the addition of a playground to the Lower Paxton Axis, and upgrades to Penge Gate and Tidal lakes- to boost the social value and tourism in the South London area. 

The project reflects HTA's ethos as leaders in landscape-led masterplanning and architecture that protects and enhances the environment. Palace Park will add to HTA's portfolio of high-profile public realm and park restoration projects, including the transformation of the 8.1-hectare Cator Park in Kidbrooke Village in Greenwich, which the Sir David Attenborough Award for Enhancing Biodiversity and The President's Award in The Landscape Institute Awards.
